A weekend getaway is in the works. K has hotel vouchers to use and we are sans family for Thanksgiving this year, so we're off an a little adventure to parts unknown. A 4-hour car ride is involved. Swimming. Holiday movies. (Sidenote: I really want to see The Fantastic Mr. Fox--I hope it's as charming as the book but you never know.) Christmas lights. And a turkey dinner at a restaurant. I have mixed feelings about that last one, but oh well. In the spirit of tradition, I'm still planning on making Grandma's pumpkin chiffon pie (I bought 4 different kinds of crust yesterday for a little holiday taste test) but that will have to wait until we get back.
Looking forward to Christmas (!) I started making some ornaments. They need to be hand-stitched closed, so I'm planning on bringing them with me to pass the time in the car. These are a quick and easy project. Download the set of 6 animal graphics here, then print, cut, iron, cut, stitch, fill, and stitch. Simple, right? See you soon.
